From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, demons, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will separate from the primary party to begin their separate journey, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Planners, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their status as important members in the powerful family could enable the group enter locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight cast members to assemble the Seekers and Planners tables.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
